Endodontic therapy involves the treatment of diseased nerve tissue of the teeth. Perhaps the most commonly known endodontic procedure is root canal therapy. Some dentists refer their patients in need of root canals to an endodontist, a dentist who specializes in root canal treatment. Advanced Laser & Cosmetic Dentistry provides in-house endodontic services to our patients.

Treatment involving the nerve of the tooth may be necessary when there is evidence of:
  • Dental abscesses.

  • Severe dental trauma.

  • Decay reaching the inner chamber of the tooth.

  • Fractured teeth.

  • Failing large, older fillings.

During endodontic treatment, the diseased enamel structure is removed, as well as the infected inner nerve tissue. The top of the tooth is then prepared so that a permanent crown can be placed over the area. Because the tooth is no longer vital, a crown helps maintain the structural integrity of the tooth so that it can withstand years of normal function.

Root canal treatment varies from person to person. Advanced Laser & Cosmetic Dentistry attends to patients in a way that keeps them as comfortable as possible during their therapy.
